I just started my fourth week of school. Getting back into a routine has been great! Previously staying home with Gabriella, I only had to plan my meals far enough out to buy groceries, then I just prepared my food when I was ready to eat. Now, I’m having to plan and prepare my food in advance, or I don’t eat! Being a teacher, I only have 25min for lunch while my kids are eating. I also pump during my lunch, so I don’t have time to go get food from somewhere if I forget to pack it or wake up late. They are very simple meals. Most of the time it is just a ham and cheese sandwich with Greek yogurt and goldfish, but sometimes I will bring leftover dinner from the previous night. I also make to pack at least 2 bottles of water because the water fountain water is not good. Not only has packing my lunch been healthier than eating out and helped me shed a few pounds, but it has also helped me save money. I don’t have time to go out and swipe my card, haha. So, once I go grocery shopping I don’t spend money on food unless it is the weekend and we go out as a family. I didn’t realize how much I was spending on food on the go until I started packing my lunch every day. Not only do I pack my lunch, but I also make sure to eat or pack my breakfast at home as well.
In conclusion, if you eat out for breakfast and lunch frequently, I challenge you to pack it for the next two weeks and see how much money you save and how many pounds you shed 😉
