Since most of us our start our dietbet challenge, I wanted to make an encouraging post. We are beginning the start of a new lifestyle. Like I mentioned last time, it is not the occasion that’s going to make or break your lifestyle and health, it’s the consistency. Starting tomorrow, its about making consistent choices for ALL of your meals. Its okay if you want to go out to eat after church on Sunday, or have a birthday dinner for a relative, but that does not mean your whole day is ruined. You still need to stick to your meal plan, and just indulge in a small portion of a ‘cheat’ meal on occasion. And by occasion, I mean 1-2 times per week MAX. One or even zero is ideal for the first three weeks. Another tip is to try and only drink water to make up for the caloric difference. Drinks contain empty calories that we need to be consuming as meals for our body to utilize the nutrients properly. Wasting those calories on drinks does nothing for our body or our health. Water can be very underrated, but it is essential for life. A minimum of 100oz of water should be consumed daily, and that will also help you keep full and ward off hunger pains. A lot of times when you think you are hungry, your body is dehydrated and signaling that it needs water.
I hope these few tips help you stay on track as we not only begin our 8 week challenge, but as you make a permanent, consistent change in your life. Remember your day is not ruined by one bad meal, and your week is not ruined by one bad day <3
