As summer is coming to end, I am having mixed emotions. While I am SO excited to start my new career, I am also very sad, and heartbroken to be leaving Gabriella. I really enjoy waking up on our own time in the morning, snuggling, eating breakfast together, and getting our day started. However, like Christina wrote about in this mornings Daily Devotional, I am “More than a Mom”. For the last 9 months, that is how I defined myself, as a mom. It is the greatest title I have been given in life. I enjoy every minute of it, yes, even the challenging days. To know that someone else is going to be enjoying her joyful personality 45 hours a week makes me jealous, but it will make what time we do spend together that much more valuable. I am very excited to start a new identity as a teacher and share my love with my new “kids”. I know this may not seem like a big deal, and lots of parents do it, but that doesn’t make it any easier. I know Gabriella will have a blast interacting with kids all day, as one of her favorite things to do is hang out with her cousins, so I know she will have a blast.
As a new teacher, I report for my first day August 6, that is in 11 days! I will have 2 weeks to train and prepare for my students for when they join me on the 20th. I am so excited to get in my room and make it a great learning environment for my students. I will post pictures as soon as I get that done!
Join me back next time as I look forward to sharing how my first week went!
