Oh where to begin.. this has been a very exhausting and exciting three weeks! After being a stay at home mom the last 10 months, it has definitely been an adjustment getting back in the groove of things. Balancing the home life with a baby and a first year teacher is not an easy task, but I do love my job so far! The only negative is not being with my baby all day. The unfiltered truth is that I was about 7 loads of laundry behind last week, and some days me and Gabriella would come home, eat dinner, and both be asleep by 7pm for the night 😮 Fortunately we just came off of a 3 day weekend and I got caught up on some things. I have also been staying up til at least 10pm now, I think I'm getting adjusted 😂 Life is more tiring some days than others, and it is okay to listen to your body and get extra rest when needed!
I have definitely found my lifelong career. As tired as I am at the end of the day, i feel like I'm doing what I was meant to do. I got a great group of kids (chatty, but awesome), and I look forward to helping them grow as people and students. I was also blessed with the best coworkers. They are all down to earth, real women. Sometimes you might find 1 or 2 you get along with, but all 9 ladies I work with are awesome and ready to help and answer questions about anything. Our campus has had many challenges so far, as it was flooded during Harvey and we are currently in a transitional, portable campus while our new one is being built. We are also implementing new curriculum, so that has been fun as well! I think the phonics, writing, and the social studies programs are my favorite and look forward to teaching those. Time is flying by. I feel like we just started school last week and grades are already due for progress reports tomorrow! With that being said, I'm going to go finish grading these papers now!
